Nyx is a Marvel comic book series that was first published in 2003. It focuses on a teenage girl named Kiden Nixon who lives on the rough streets of New York City. Kiden has the ability to freeze time and has to navigate her powers as well as the dangers around her.
The series was created by writer Joe Quesada and artist Joshua Middleton and was initially part of Marvel's Tsunami imprint, which aimed to target younger audiences. Despite its initial success, the series was cancelled after issue #7 due to low sales.
Nyx has since made appearances in other Marvel comics, including X-23 and Wolverine: The Best There Is. The character has been praised for her relatable struggles and for giving a realistic portrayal of life for marginalized youth in New York City.
